There are over 750 pubs in Dublin and a lot of pubs unfortunately don’t advertise jobs online. Most will simply place an sign in the window letting you know they are looking for staff. You can find some jobs available in pubs on indeed.com or gumtree.ie. Given the amount of people looking online you may have a better chance of finding a job by leaving your CV into the pubs and bars. Those which don’t advertise online will probably have less applications increasing your chances of finding a new job.
Working behind a bar can be a very demanding role especially if you’re working in the city centre on the weekends. You are always on your feet and the hours are long. The busiest time is around the weekend so the hours can also be anti social.

Where to search for pub/bar jobs
The websites mentioned above will be useful but as a lot of pubs don’t advertise online, unfortunately you’ll have to travel around the city leaving in your CV. You can use websites like yelp and tripadvisor to find the locations of pubs in Dublin. From our “How I found a job in Dublin” series, one person recommended looking for jobs outside the city centre as there is less competition.
